Erickson Lubin, the 154lb American boxer, has expressed his eagerness to challenge current unified welterweight champion, Errol Spence Jr., in the future. Lubin currently competes in the super welterweight division (154 pounds) who stands with a boxing record of 24-2 loss recently lost against the giant 154lb fighter Sebastian Fundora last year and is now looking to make steady progress in his career.
Despite Lubin’s recent loss at 154 pounds, he has set his sights on a potential with Errol “The Truth” Spence, who is widely regarded as one of the best pound-for-pound fighters in the sport today. Lubin believes he has the skills and attributes to compete with the best in the world, and is confident he could give Spence a tough challenge.
However, Lubin recognizes that he has a lot of work to do before he welcomes Spence to the 154lb division. He is currently focused on building some momentum with wins at 154 pounds. But Lubin is determined to keep improving and make his mark on the sport, and has made it clear that a future showdown with Spence would be a dream come true.
“I definitely want to fight someone like Spence. I started my pro career at 47. Spence was the guy coming out of the amateurs at 147. Everybody was high on him, just like they were high on me as well. They always talked about me and him fighting. I think it’s a great fight. We’re both southpaws. We gonna see who’s the better southpaw.”
