Andy Ruiz has clarified his current promotional situation with Premier Boxing Champions (PBC) and put an end to speculation about his contract status. Ruiz is still under contract with PBC despite reports claiming that he had declared promotional free agent status.
Ruiz also revealed that his promotional contract with Tom Brown’s TGB Promotions has ended after two years. However, Ruiz made it clear that he is still with PBC and is looking forward to continuing his career with them.
βOn behalf of myself and Team Ruiz, we would like to thank TGB Promotions and President Tom Brown for their great support,β Ruiz stated through his verified social media accounts. :My contract with TBG Promotions has come to an end & I will now be moving forward as part of the PBC Family with Al Haymon as my advisor,β said Ruiz.
Regarding his next move, the International Boxing Federation (IBF) recently ordered a purse bid for the mandatory position in their heavyweight rankings between Ruiz and Filip Hrgovic. But, both fighters couldn’t come to an agreement and it looks like the fight may not happen between the two.
Recently Ruiz captured a victory over Luiz Ortiz back in September which has put him in line to challenge for the mandatory position in the World Boxing Council (WBC) rankings. Ruiz’s next move is still unknown, but he may face former heavyweight champion, Deontay Wilder.
